CMI2 and Career Connections

Feb. 26, 2024

The successes of CMI2’s Adaptive Experimentation Facility in 2023 are undeniable, and we believe our people make us different. Among those who made a difference at the Clay County facility are those who participated in the Career Connections program.

In 2023, the CMI2 Adaptive Experimentation Facility hired our inaugural class of interns dedicated to the Clay County site. Recognizing collaboration is key, we had the unique opportunity to partner with the Workforce Development Board Mid-Ohio Valley’s Career Connections Paid Work Experience program to augment our local employment efforts.

Career Connections is an employment and training program focusing on developing academic, occupational, and social skills for individuals aged 16- 24.

Last week, Workforce Development Board Mid-Ohio Valley featured CMI2 in episode 46 of its Workforce Unhinged podcast. The podcast focused on the partnership between CMI2 and Career Connections, including interviews with Adam Landers, AEF Operations Manager, and site specialists Joshua Walker and Elijah Morton.

During the podcast, Josh and Elijah describe their exposure to real-world technical and engineering experiences and discuss their day-to-day tasks.
