CMI2 Announces 2025 Ignite Summer Internship Program

CMI2 Announces 2025 Ignite Summer Internship Program

January 25, 2025

At the Civil-Military Innovation Institute (CMI2), we empower the next generation of innovators through our summer internship program for Clay County High School students. Each summer, CMI2 interns at our Adaptive Experimentation Facility (AEF) at Fort Andrew play a pivotal role in supporting our nation’s warfighters by contributing to developing the unique military training and experimentation facility in Lizemores.

As we prepare for the third iteration of our internship program, we are pleased to introduce CMI2 Ignite. Building on the foundation of our successful internship programs in 2023 and 2024, CMI2 Ignite offers Clay County students work experience opportunities with our experienced on-site staff, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

The CMI2 internship is a chance to make a real impact while building valuable skills for your future career. Interns collaborate on innovative projects, helping to shape the future of military training and support our CMI2 mission in meaningful ways.

Program Overview

In the summer of 2025, interns will support the AEF through the CMI2 Ignite program. As part of their summer employment experience, the interns will assist every division within the AEF, contributing to key initiatives and tasks.

Interns will engage in various tasks related to Experimentation, including support for special events and domestic operations; Technology Integration, focusing on course and site development and red teaming support; and Community Involvement, which entails implementing strategic partnerships, community outreach, and engagement initiatives. Additionally, they will provide operational support, leadership education, and assistance to all division components across Fort Andrew.

  • All CMI2 internships are paid.
  • This internship is full-time, approximately 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday (occasional weekends), from early June through the beginning of August.
