Raise the Roof

May 13, 2024

Big things are happening in Lizemores. This week, our team continued making progress on opening the new Adaptive Experimentation Facility (AEF) at Fort Andrew in Lizemores — we are raising the roof!

Early Monday morning, the AEF staff signed the final steel beam before it was hoisted into place.

The original building along Route 16 is undergoing a significant transformation as we develop the new AEF Base Camp to house essential equipment, offices, and vehicles.

Since CMI2 acquired the property in early March, our team has worked hard removing interior walls, reinforcing exterior walls, replacing the roof on the main building, and even adding sewer and power for recreational vehicles/campers.

In just two months, the AEF team has demonstrated tremendous dedication to moving the facility to Lizemores. In conjunction with the activities in Lizemores, the AEF staff is actively working to decommission the existing temporary location in the Fola-Bickmore area by July 2024.

We are grateful for the partnership and support of the people of Lizemores and Clay County. Local vendors and businesses supporting the Lizemores development include:
