In with the New.
Since relocating the CMI2 Adaptive Experimentation Facility (AEF) to Lizemores, WV, our fantastic interns have continued to work hard at decommissioning the previous site and supporting tasks to build the new base camp.
This week, the three previously formed teams collaborated to engage to complete the given project effectively. On Friday evening, the last large load of materials and machinery was delivered to the base camp at Fort Andrew, making it possible to meet our early July deadline.
The materials will now be recycled and used by the team to assemble the base camp at our relocated area. Here, our efforts to assist in bridging the gap in defense innovation will now be made more accessible.
At the new Fort Andrew location in Lizemores, activity continues to build the necessary infrastructure for the permanent headquarters facility on the mountain above the base camp location.
Hands to Larger Service
Several 2024 AEF internship program members are active 4-Hers in Clay County and embraced the opportunity to talk defense innovation at the annual camp this week. Our team took the robot dogs and allowed campers the chance to operate. 4-H is one of the largest youth development programs available for students at least 9 years of age and older.
