CMI2 Attends Arctic Forge 23

Representatives of the Civil-Military Innovation Institute (CMI2) attended  Arctic Forge 23, a U.S. Army Europe and Africa led winter warfare umbrella exercise leveraging the host nation’s Defense Exercise North in Finland, focusing on building Arctic military capabilities and cooperation.

On Feb. 28, Scott Abplanalp, CMI2 Pathfinder Warfighter Innovation Chief for Montana and Alaska, briefed Ambassador Douglas Hickey, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Finland, on the Arctic Modular Sled. The sled, a CMI2-led innovation project, is a highly adaptable, lightweight, and modular arctic maneuverability solution developed in collaboration with military partners from the Montana National Guard, Alaska 11th ABN DIV, and researchers from the University of Montana.
